Legal Procedures for Wedding Certification in Thailand
For your marriage to be registered certain procedures need to be followed by the bride and groom. Please contact us for further information or if you require assistance.

Below you will find the steps to follow for having the wedding validated by the Authorities in Thailand and recognized abroad:
Step 1
Issue the certificate Letter for bride and groom from the respective Embassy of your country in Thailand (in English Language).
Step 2
The Certificate Letter for bride and groom issued in English language by the embassies, have to be translated into Thai language by any Law office in Bangkok.
Step 3
The original of the documents from point 1 and 2 must be validated and stamped (on every page) by the Ministry of Foreign Affair in Bangkok.
Note:
The valid passports of bride and groom must be shown for steps 1, 2 and 3.
To complete the above, you may plan 3 working days in Bangkok (please take into consideration the Thailand’s Public Holidays). It is strongly recommended to make appointments with the Authorities in order to have the documents issued on time.
Step 4
Once in Samui, the documents will be give to Nathon City Hall a few days prior to the wedding (according to check-in date) for issuing the Wedding certificate. (in Thai language). The authorities come to the hotel for signing the documents after the wedding ceremony at the hotel.
Please note that hotel is not responsible for completing the steps from 1 to 4; the bride and groom are the sole responsible for issuing the correct documents.
Step 1 to 4 are not required if the bride and groom do not need any legal paper for certifying their wedding.
